When playing the game the main thing is
to have fun. Sometimes though fun is in the eye of the beholder. I want
everyone to have fun but I don’t want it to be at the expense of others. So
I have a few rules in while playing that should keep things level.
1.
No Rule Lawyers. If I make a call that’s the way it is.
After the session if you have a problem with a rule call you can talk to me
about it and with the group we can decide on certain things. I will be
flexible and change a rule if the group feels it’s needed. I however will
not write an entire book to suit one persons need.
2.
No antagonists. I had a person in my game once make a
chaotic evil thief so they could always mess with the lawful good paladin.
The group doesn’t need antagonists. I assure you I have plenty of them in
game.
3.
No BS. I normally like to have everyone on 15 minutes
early so we can socialize. Once the game starts I like to keep the BS down
to a minimum. Once the game starts I don’t want to hear what you and your
girlfriend did last night, or how your job sucks. Before or after the
session if you want to vent sure go for it. While in game keep the BS down.
4.
No craziness. This is a hard one to explain but ill try.
With RPG games getting more and more ridiculous it creates more and more
ridiculous players. I mostly refer to what I call Final Fantasy Syndrome. I
won’t make a super race just for you. There will be no gun swords. You can't
be a Japanese type character when my world clearly doesn’t cater to that.
5.
No Greed. Another problem with today games is they spawned
the Everquest syndrome. All players want loot and loot and loot. There will
not be tons and tons of magical items to go around. You won’t get 100gp from
every monster. I also won’t tolerate greedy players. It mind boggles me to
see on some games a group of well balanced people and one person walks away
with all the loot clearly when he cant use all of it. Once the Main group is
made this will be discussed on how to handle money and items. |
